technical problem.... hmmm... always a hindrance or challenge....
sokay, organising a race is always like that..... foreseen and unforeseen things will happen.

okay i know i should actually leave this to the png race comitee to announce , but i think it should be posted as soon as possible so that riders dont waste their money booking hotel rooms now itself and for overseas riders they dont book their flight tickets .

i recieved info from samantha - ksh that the race is [color=#BF0000]C A N C E L L E D until further notice

so all u guys there if u already book your ticks and rooms i dont know how la , but to those that havent , then dont !

i'll let the organising commitee and stuff explain why the cancellation and stuff probably tomorow .





but i am still planning go down penang that weekend and ride the trails there . anybody care to join me ?

sorry josh i know its your duty or lenny's duty to post this stuff , but even i myself was almost a victim . i was going to ask sam to book my rooms just now and then she told me about it . so yeah others should know as soon as possible too

I've heard abt "lumba haram" all these years.They might hv a point but that doesn't mean the organizer didn't try.
This case I applaud the organizer for trying.
Firstly it shud be made clear that it's only a grassroot race.For it to be called International, it has to go under the wing of the federation and sports council.Proposals shud be forwarded to them.Federation will onli issue endorsement and make sure all safety aspects are covered.
Grassroots race are smaller scale.Federation still need to be informed but doesn't require endorsements however support of local ministries must be there.Grassroots race ARE not LUMBA HARAM and national athletes shud be allowed to race.
MNCF shud support fully any races organized by private groups as long they meet the requirements.
They shud stop being a stuck up,"we know it all" and "we are the ruler" type of federation.
Malaysian Government says Majulah Sukan Untuk Negara! But so far has it for Downhill?

hmmm.... as per mann said.. putting 'international' must get approval from KBS and MSN if i'm not mistaken.

KLD before, we were going to call it KLID... but KBS wont allow it. Plus the word 'race' is very sensitive...

Bakar told me before, if call race it involves a lot things.. thats y they and other call it 'challenge'

to others its only name, but to the governing body it is a very big thing....

thats why M'sia DH scene is not going anywhere.. pity..

the word International is a simple words but the criteria are very heavy:

the list is very long, thats y organizer put the word challenge. International means the event is at international level where people around the world will know and come participate plus their nation support. The damages claims, lawsuit... oohh... its a very tedious process.

its like F1 or motogp, soccer world cup, UCI world cup or world championship...

its not about not encouraging the sports but this is the criteria that must be follow.

even to get UCI sanctioned race, organizer must follow a strict guideline.

but, we do what we can do from our side. Dont rely on support from the government or national bodies, u like it u follow.. if u dont like it then so be it. So far our scene are being supported by riders, we are grateful to have this kind of support.

look at DH US Open where Sam won, look at the crowd turnout... more or less the same as a small race here in malaysia.

Ok guy,don't be so upset yet,because we have a meeting this evening with PCA(penang cycle association),we are pending to make this race on 20th DEC,so stay tune ok.....hope we can get the approval from PCA since we going to have another meeting with them next week.
